Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant

Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital seeks a full-time Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant to join its growing team in providing personal and innovative care in a patient-centered medical environment.

The Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant is responsible to provide administrative support to the Recovery Care department and to assist nursing staff. Monday – Friday, 0900-1730.


  1. Unit Secretary
  • Greet and direct callers, patients, physicians and visitors.
  • Triages phone calls.
  • Assists physicians in locating patients and/or nursing staff.
  • Provides administrative support to department.
  1. Nursing Assistant
  • Assists RN with direct and indirect patient care as needed.
  • Assists RN with patient questions.
  • Initiates cleaning and restocking of patient room following patient discharge.


  1. Education and Experience
  • High School graduate. One year of medical secretarial school with medical terminology preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Nursing Assistant training or one year Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
  • CNA certification desirable.
